Get answers to common questions about Microblading/ Microshading.
Results commonly last 12–24 months depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Oily skin and sun exposure fade pigment faster. We recommend a color-correction appointment at 6–8 weeks and maintenance touch-ups every 12–18 months to keep brows fresh.
Most clients experience mild discomfort rather than pain. We apply topical numbing cream before and during the service to minimize sensation. Pain tolerance varies, but treatments are generally well-tolerated; you can discuss concerns with your technician for extra comfort measures.
Avoid blood-thinning medications, alcohol, caffeine and intense exercise for 24–48 hours before your appointment. Stop retinols and chemical peels two weeks prior. Arrive with clean brows and plan for a two-hour session including consultation and shaping.
Healing includes initial redness, scabbing, and pigment darkening for the first week. Scabs flake off around days 7–14, revealing softer pigment. Full healing and true color stabilization occur by 4–6 weeks, when a follow-up can address any touch-ups.
Most skin types can benefit, but oily or very textured skin may not retain crisp hair strokes as well. In those cases, microshading or a hybrid technique provides longer-lasting, blended results. We assess skin during consultation to recommend the best approach.
Aftercare is critical: avoid water, sweating, and makeup on brows for 7–10 days. Apply recommended ointment sparingly, avoid sun exposure and facials for several weeks. Proper aftercare ensures pigment retention and reduces risk of infection or poor healing.
